I currently have 9 projects unfinished: 3 have been partially inked, 4 are still in the sketching stages, and 2 are close to being finished.
I'm trying to work out a technique for faster + nicer looking shading in Photoshop. I don't know about 'faster' but the softer brush I've been using is a big improvement over the rough cell-shading of my earlier work.
As for actual lineart n' sketches and such, it's hard to tell if I'm improving. I've been flipping through some anatomy & art books, and attempting to utilize at least some of what I'm learning from them.
My biggest improvement so far, I think, is on drawing human heads- not just faces, but the actual skull. One thing I noticed about my older art is that I drew heads way too large. This may have been because I started out drawing in a more manga-influenced style than I do now, but let's face it, though I've always been a fan of Japanese anime and comics, I'm just not very good at emulating the style.
Which is fine.
I don't want to draw like somebody else. It is my goal to simply be the best at my own art. Sounds reasonable, right?
So yeah, new submissions forthcoming, eventually.
